Chefs Justin Tootla & Jennifer Jackson (Bunny Bunny, Detroit)
Chefs Jennifer Lee Jackson and Justin Tootla are the acclaimed culinary duo behind Detroit’s nationally recognized restaurants Voyager and Bunny Bunny—and recent competitors on Season 23 of Bravo’s Top Chef. The life and culinary partners met while attending The Culinary Institute of America before building careers that took them through celebrated kitchens across the country, including Prune, Le Bernardin, Chez Panisse, Eva and Yusho.
In 2017, Jennifer and Justin opened the seafood-forward Voyager, earning national recognition from Food & Wine, Esquire, Eater and Thrillist. They followed with Bunny Bunny, a Chinese American restaurant celebrated for its bold cooking, equitable workplace model and commitment to giving back to the community.
Their food reflects years of travel, a deep respect for regional ingredients and Justin’s Indian heritage, brought together through Jennifer’s intuitive, ingredient-driven approach. Now based between Detroit and Michigan’s Leelanau Peninsula, the pair continues to create food that is thoughtful, playful and deeply personal.
Jennifer and Justin will take over the kitchen at Heyday Cookshop for a three-week chef residency, December 1–22, bringing their distinctive style and collaborative energy to Naples.
